

He was born January 30, 1930 in Scott Depot, West Virginia. Dick became a skilled glassblower at an early age, while working in the family business, Hamon Glass. Dick retired from General Electric after 35 years of service and moved to Florida in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Linda DeMauro; son: Richard of Kentucky; three daughters: Luann Ditto, Robin Hamon, both of Kentucky and Paulette McClellan of North Carolina. He was not only proud of his children but also of his grandchildren: Jonathan Franchell of Brooklyn, NY, Aubrey Franchell of New York, NY, Brian Franchell of Washington, DC, Myles Parker of Ohio, Sylas Kern of Kentucky, Joshua Finocchiaro of Colorado, Amber Finocchiaro and Tyler Daniels both of North Carolina. In addition, he was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Laurel Franchell, Colon Godwin, Oliver Pierce and Iva Finocchiaro.
In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated and a service is planned for later this summer in Canastota, NY, where he lived for many years. Memorials may be sent to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or St. Jude’s.
