I had the pleasure of working with Rick for many years.  He was a great guy and a fun guy.  He would always provide a helping hand to anyone in need.May God bless his soul.

Rick was one of the first that I met on arival in TPA and what a great friend. He would give you the shirt off his back and more.  My prayers go to his family.

I remember Rick as the gentle giant.He always treated all women with respect and would always lighten our load if he could. Reflecting with co-workers today we remembered his small" lunches...enough to feed all of us but not enough for him.I haven't seen him in years but will always remember him as a true gentleman. JoyRick may you rest in peace knowing that you were loved and respected by all who knew you."

I worked with Rick his entire time in Tampa. Rick was great to work with. He was an easy going Hillbilly( I used to call him a hillbilly) and I can't put here what he called me. Rick worked in all areas and was an asset in every department. I contacted him a few times after he left Delta. I wish I had been able to maintain contact with him. When groups of us get togather, his memory will come up and we will all speak highly of him.

It was a pleasure and an honor to have known and worked with Rick. We worked together at the gates and baggage service and he always insisted on lifting the heavy bags for me. He was always a gentleman. He had all those muscles but underneath  he was a very sweet and gentle man. Rick & his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Rick many years and Rick was my friend, after retirement we talked on the phone and had breakfast many times, Rick was a great guy and always a lot of fun to talk with, for the last few years I had lost contact with Rick and missed the times togetherwith a lot of the folks from Delta, but I understand when folks are sick they seem to fade away,  I know that Rick is with God at this time looking down on us and Rick is saying to God, how can I help my friends"Rick will be Missed....."

I worked with Rick in the bag room whenI first started in 1974.  Rick was veryhelpful in teaching and showing me the ropes in the operation areas.  He also enjoyed lifting HEAVY bags.  I was very happy when he took a HEAVY bag from me and put it in the cart!!  Rickhad a hearty laugh and it always put a smile on his fellow co-workers too.  He will be missed.  I feel fortunate to have shared in a small part of his life.  My thoughts and prayers are sent to his family.

I had the pleasure of working with Rick when I was first hired by Delta Airlines.  We had the patience of a saint and was a great mentor.  We shared many laugths while dealing with the flying public.When he started having back problems,  he just continued to be a true southern gentleman and help anywone he could.  I'm sure there were times when his co-workers didn't realize he was in pain.   He had strength many ways.He is in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Rick for many years.  He was always such a pleasure to work with and also to just be around. I can still hear his special laugh.  My thoughts and prayers are sent to his family.

I had the pleasure of working gates in Tampa and also air cargo with Rick. If you know me you know how I tease people and Rick and I shared many a laugh after such teasing. Funny thing is Im not laughing now but thinking about this gentle giant who was in such great shape and is now gone. There must be a big room where all of my fellow Delta departed have gone to.Too many and too sad to mention but believe me I have many fond memories of Rick and the rest of the gang.Dont look for me soon boys.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Rick on the counter, baggage services, and air freight. I will always remember that not only was Rick a big man in statue, he had a heart of Gold. He was a true gentleman in all respects. He always had a big smile on his face. Rick thanks for the many helping hands that you extended to your co-workers. Your family will be in our hearts and prayers.

I worked with Rick for many years.  I will always remember Rick as the easy going" fellow that worked very hard to please.  I will also never forget how troubled he became when he came down with his desease.  We talked many times about this.  Even in his "bad times" while I still worked with him

Rick was the anchor that stabilized the ship when chaos reigned in the workplace.  His professionalism, job knowledge, sense of humor and signature laugh inspired me during the sixteen years it was my privilege to work with him.His family has lost a valuable member; and his colleagues a valuable friend.  But we can rest assured that, as we celebrate his life and friendship, Rick is just loading that next cart of bags and straightening up the ramp" for us.Hang in there

rick was a fine man and impressed me as a gentle giant with a big heart. He was always so giving and kind to others. I will never forget his laugh and how his concern for his fellow workers and passengers always seemed to be so sincere and natural. I worked with Rick at Delta for his entire career. He always gave 100% and never complaine. He was a great asset during irregular operations.When Rick had to retire early brcause of multiple sclerosis, I was glad I could offer some help to him from the things I learned taking care of my wife who is also afflicted with M SI remember going with Rick to Rudy Daumy's funeral and he had trouble stepping over a parking curb but he was so determined he refused to walk around it, he finally got over and I am sure that he continued that determination throughout his life.Rick---I am glad I knew you

Rick and I were hired 2 weeks apart in 1968 at the old airport. We worked hard, and we partied hard together. I left on a military leave of absence after 2 years at Delta. When I returned, we had moved to the new airport and he was the one that took me under his wing to show me the ropes. He was in charge of the bagroom on the PM shift and requested that I work with him. He took it very seriously, and he knew only one way, full throttle at all times. He was a bull, in every aspect except his heart, which was more like a teddy bear. I remember going out to eat, while on duty, and he would order double portions of everything.

I will always remember Rick as a go-getter....He always wanted to do better.. Teaching him public-contact was a challenge, not for me but for Rick, but one he fought and WON....He was a gentleman and a friend.

Working with people like Rick made it a pleasure. I always enjoyed working with him and I loved hearing him laugh. I wish I had kept in touch with him over the years.  He will be missed and remembered by many.  My thoughts and prayers are for him and with the family.

I will always remember Rick. He was a great guy with a gentle disposition. He always seemed to have a smile on his face and never had anything derogatory to say about anyone. He always conducted himself in a professional manner (when dealing with Delta's customer's) and was always more than willing to give me a shot in the arm whether I needed it or not! I celebrate Rick's accomplishments here on God's earth and his final reward in Heaven. You will not be forgotten old friend.

Rick was a very good Man.He was great in size but had an even larger heart.Rick was upbeat and always had a smile and great attitude towards the public and to his fellow man.No matter whatever happened he always was positive.Rick,GOD is recieving a very good MAN.Best to all of the family.
