POLING, Richard L., age 89 of Spring Hill died Monday, August 8, 2011 at his home. Born in Elkins, West Virginia he came to this area 23 years ago from Pittsburgh, PA. He worked as an Engineer for the U.S. Department of the Interior, was a WW II US Army Air Corp Veteran and member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of numerous engineering societies and received several awards. Survivors include his wife: Esther Mae Poling and several loving nieces and nephews. Visitation for friends will be 6-7pm Monday, August 15, 2011 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00am Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
