Robert (Bob) N. Hieb, age 76, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the HPH Hospice care center in New Port Richey, FL. He celebrated this incredible wonderful life from June 30, 1946 until November 28, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Gabriella (Gaye) Hieb, His son Stephen and wife Simone, his daughter Selena and husband Robert and by his adopted son Travis (Chance). Bob also leaves behind 8 loving, funny and mischievous grandchildren; Kevin, Alicia, Stephen, Marshall, Sonny Paige, Skyler, Robert Nelson and Conner, also his niece, Dr. Rachelle Yankelevitz.
Bob is also survived by his best friend, hunting and fishing buddy Jim Willmann of NC, who is his fun loving and prankster buddy.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Clement and Dovie (Pruitt) Hieb and by his son, John Paul who recently died in NC.
Bob is a graduate of Ben L Smith High School, Greensboro, NC, class of ’65, and University of SC and Guilford College, NC.
Bob served in the US Army from 1966-1969, He served in Vietnam, from 1966-1967 AG Co, HQ US ARV, Casualty Div-Vietnam.
He was employed by NC Army National Guard as a Civilian Unit Administrator. He also served in the Army Reserves as a Battalion Supply Sargent. He retired From Atlantic Hoist and Crane of Morehead City, NC.
Bob was a life member of the VFW Post 10209 in Spring Hill, FL. the American Legion Post 186, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 466 both of Brooksville, FL.
Funeral arrangements and care under the direction of Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Services will be held on Friday, December 16th at 2:00 PM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL., and afterwards a life celebration will be held at the VFW Post 10209, in Spring Hill.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Honor Flights West Central Florida or Hero’s on the Water-Tampa, as both programs were dear to Bob’s heart.
