He was born in Binghamton, New York and moved to this area 15 years ago from Arcadia, Florida. He was a cattleman and a member of Gulf Ridge Park Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Robert S. Kunkel, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida; daughters, Bonna Lee Kunkel of Spring Hill, Florida and Carol Ann Nelson of Georgia; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation for friends and family will be 1:00pm-3:00pm, Monday, December 11, 2017 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 3:00pm, with Reverend Clarence Helms officiating. Interment will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
