Born in Richland, Ohio he moved to N.C. in 1992 from Brooksville. He was a Cable Splicer for Bell South and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.Survivors include his Wife: Bonnie Maxey; Daughter: Betsy Maxey Snyder of Pensacola, FL; Mother: Beverly Maxey of Brooksville; Step-son: Wes Filyaw of Brooksville; Brother: Bill Maxey of Brooksville; Grandchildren: Mady Snyder, Kyle Filyaw and Brady Filyaw.Visitation for friends will be 11- 1:00, Wed., May 17, 2006 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where funeral services will begin at 1:00pm.
