

Born January 30, 1949 in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late David and Mary (Hunter) O’Berry. He proudly served his country in the United State Army during the Vietnam War and came to Brooksville 46 years ago from Miami. He worked as an electrician and was a parishioner of St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church. Rocky not only had good character, but was quite the character who had a big personality and even bigger heart. Known for his quick wit, Rocky was not only funny, but he was kind, loving and generous.
He is preceded in death by his son, Darell O’Berry and grandson, Cylus O'Berry. He is survived by his loving wife, Maryann O’Berry; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Susan O’Berry, Kyle & Allissa O’Berry and Cameron O’Berry, all of Brooksville, Florida; brother, Bill O’Berry of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Jason, Miranda, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, and Aryn O'Berry and one great-grandchild, Remi Hughes.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30am-12:30pm, Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00pm at St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church, with Reverend Paul Pecchie officiating. Interment will be at 2:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors.
