

He was born December 16, 1942 in Portland, Maine where he was raised and received his early education; he went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Indiana. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was a life member of the American Legion, worked for the national organization post Naval service as an advocate for veterans, later served as Commander of his local Legion post in Falmouth, Maine, was a marching drummer for the local Kora Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps, a Portland passenger ferry captain, a 32nd degree Mason and in 1995 self-published a paperback social commentary memoir entitled "Hypocrisy Unlimited."
God bless him; he was loved and will be sorely missed. Many thanks to all the dedicated medical people and numerous hospitals, especially the VA, social services staff both within the VA and the county, and the fine folks who lovingly cared for him of late at Ann’s House Assisted Living Facility in Spring Hill.
A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at 2:30pm, Monday, February 11, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery.
