

He was born on June 30, 1957 in Leesburg, Florida to John E. & Shirley A. Taylor. Steve married Deborah Martorelli in Brooksville, Florida on August 2, 2003.
Steve (lovingly referred to as “Papa”) was a production manager at Cemex for 37 years. Steve was a husband, a father and the World’s Greatest Papa anyone could ask for. He was a man that lived his life with honor and dignity. He loved fishing with his wife and grandchildren and a long ride on his motorcycle with his closest friend, Steve. His family and friends remember him as the World’s Greatest Husband, Dad, Papa, Fisherman, and Cement Maker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John E Taylor and Shirley A Taylor.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Taylor; his four sons, Steven Taylor (wife Tiffany, children Steven, John, and Archer), Samuel Taylor (wife Stephanie, children Presley, Jack, Alex, and Chance), Tony Martorelli (child Ryan), and Joseph Quibell (wife Vanessa, children Chrissy, Joey Jr., Ethan, and Kallee); his daughter, Christina Quibell-Bishop; his brothers, Michael Taylor, David Taylor, and Scott Taylor; his sisters, Barbara Richardson and Donna Mumma; and his best friend, Steve Bassler.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:30pm, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601), where Services begin at 2:30pm.
