Walker Travis Finley, Sr.

FINLEY, Walker Travis, Sr., age 57, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 surrounded by his wife and all five of his children. He was born in Asheboro, NC to Neva and William Finley but was a lifelong resident of Brooksville, FL. He spent his working career as a paver operator in road construction and worked very hard doing so. After meeting his soulmate and lifelong partner at the early age of 19, he went on to create a family of 5 children and 8 grandchildren. He loved spending his time with his family, whether it was going to the hunting camp with his sons and grandsons, checking out a local fishing spot, showing off his cooking skills by testing out a new recipe or simply getting in the car and taking a drive. His grandchildren affectionately referred to him as their Pawpaw and he loved to see them smile. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Sherry Finley; sons: W.T. & Michael Finley, all of Brooksville, FL; daughters: Regina Ferguson of Micanopy; Jessie Finley & Ashley Castillo; mother: Neva Finley, all of Brooksville; five siblings & 8 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. He will be remembered by his family as being a loving husband, dad, Pawpaw and friend to all that knew him.
