He was born April 3, 1944 in Canton, Massachusetts and came to the area 32 years ago from New Jersey. He was a United States Navy Vietnam War veteran and a mechanical contractor in the air conditioning industry. He was a parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Taryn Slingerland. He is survived by his sons: Walter S. Lawhorn and Craig Lawhorn, both of New Jersey; daughter: Kellianne Goodnight of Georgia; brother: Warren Lawhorn and sister: Lois Rowan, both of Georgia; his best friend: Thomas Zarnoch; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00pm, Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, with Navy Military Honors at 4:00pm.
