He was born May 14, 1931 in Rockford, Illinois and came to Brooksville 16 years ago from California. He proudly served in the United States Army, worked as a machinist and was of the Lutheran faith.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Dan & Sherrie Newman of Coupeville, Washington and Gene Newman of Hemet, California; brothers, Bob Newman of Brooksville, Florida, Donald Newman and Gary Newman, both of Rockford, Illinois; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis & Bill Lampson of Brooksville, Florida; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00pm, Monday, April 1, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors.
