Alda C. Taylor

Alda Costa Murta Taylor, age 85, of Brunswick, died Sunday, April 13, 2014. Mrs. Taylor was born and raised in Brunswick and was a graduate of Glynn Academy. She operated 3 Way Grocery in Brunswick for several years during the 60’s and 70’s before a fire caused the business to close. She later worked for 12 years at the Seafarer Inn on Jekyll Island as a front desk clerk where she assisted with catering and other special events. Mrs. Taylor was an avid gardener who enjoyed cooking and catering and was a member of the Garden Club of Brunswick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvaro and Ella Murta and her son, Al Costa.

She is survived by several cousins and many friends who loved her dearly and whom she loved in return, and by her beloved dog, Hoppy, who was right beside her at the end.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Catholic section at Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, 4627 US Hwy 17 North, Brunswick, GA 31525 or to the charity of your choice.
