Alexander Kyle Magnant, 29, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, formerly of St. Simons Island, Georgia, departed this life Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence in Flowery Branch. A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Born June 2, 1989 in Bozeman, Montana, to Kurt J. and Jackie H. Magnant, he had attended Glynn Academy his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. He was a graduate of South Forsyth High School class of 2007. He was a senior at Kennesaw State University, working toward a degree in Criminal Justice, and a manager at Pueblos Mexican Restaurant in Cumming, Georgia. Alex was a devoted father to his beloved son Jaxson and loved spending time with his family and many friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and being at the ocean. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert F. Carr, and paternal grandfather, Lawrence E. Magnant.
Survivors include his son, Jaxson Magnant of Flowery Branch; his girlfriend and Jaxson’s mother, Chelsea Bond of Flowery Branch; his parents, Jackie H. Magnant of St. Simons; Kurt J. Magnant of Bozeman, MT; his stepfather Mark S. Eckert of Suwanee, GA; a sister, Chelsea L. Magnant of Oakland, CA; brother-in-law Garrett Miller of Oakland, CA; maternal grandmother, Kay Carr of St. Simons Island; paternal grandmother, Eleanor F. Magnant of Tomahawk, WI; and many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
