

Mrs. Stebbins was born in Norwood, Georgia on February 3, 1915 to the late George Hall and Lillian Adams Ray. She graduated from Wesleyan College and moved to Darien in 1936. She taught school in Darien for 18 years, in Brunswick for 19 years and was the Librarian at Jane Macon Middle School until she retired in 1977.
Mrs. Stebbins has been a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church since 1955 where she served on the Altar Guild and as a charter member of the St. Andrews Parish Chapter of the D.A.R. She also was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, G.E.A., N.E.A. and R.T.E.A.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Stebbins of Darien, her brothers, William N. Ray, George A. Ray and Edward S. Ray, her sisters Marjorie R. Hudson, Lillian R. Fuller and Louise Ray and her nephews Neal Ray and Henry Hudson.
She is survived by her sister-in-law Marcia R. (Peggy) Ray, nieces and nephews, Betty P. Knight (Buford), Evans, Ga., Louise R. Fulcher (Bobby), Harlem, Ga., Margie H. Fant (John), Orangeburg, S.C., Marcia R. Glawe, Decorah, Iowa, Jeannie R. Donald (Calvin), Biloxi, MS., Ginger Ray , Yardley, PA., Judy H. Bush ( Earl), Chamblee, Ga., R. Thomas Fuller (Carol), Evans Ga., George M. Ray (Patsy), Fitzgerald, Ga., Edward L. Ray, Warrenton, Ga., and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, 11/27/12, in the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Darien with Rev. Ted Clarkston officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien.
Active pallbearers will be: Dr. John Fant, Buford Knight, Bobby Fulcher, Neil Fuller, Lawrence Jacobs and John Sawyer.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 3 PM Tuesday 11/27/12. Memorials may be made to the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Darien, Ga. or your favorite charity.
