A longtime resident of Brunswick, Georgia, Mr. Wooten made his home there from the age of two. Throughout his long and full life, he was known for his hardworking spirit, his love of family, and his passion for the things that brought him joy.
Mr. Wooten retired from Hercules after 22 years of dedicated employment. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, dirt track racing, working on cars, and building race motors. These hobbies reflected his love of being outdoors, his mechanical talent, and his appreciation for anything with an engine. But above all else, Julian treasured his family.
He shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Leona Pierce Wooten, who preceded him in death. Some of his most cherished memories were made traveling with Leona and spending time together visiting the Smoky Mountains. Their love and the memories they created together remained an important part of his life.
Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Wooten Sr. and Lillian Wooten; his daughters, Anita Denise Wooten and Susan Deann Smith (Richard); his grandson, Jacob Dale Wooten; his great-granddaughter, Katelyn Makayla Dugger; and his siblings, Jean Wooten, Johnny Wooten, Charles Wooten, Ann Wooten, Marie Sloane, and Betty Jean Alvins.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his children, Barbara Joyce Harper (Johnny) and James Donald Wooten (Linda); grandchildren, Laura Knowles, Matthew Mistisshen (Desiree), Brian Wooten (Lacey), Allison Beard (Jonathan), Christina Branson (Eddie), and AJ Smith; and great-grandchildren, Madison Hall, Claire Dugger, Jayce Griffin, Maddox Janousek, Easton Janousek, Leah Branson, Corey Branson, Avery Smith, Alivia Smith, Aiden Beard and Annslee Smith.
He is also survived by his siblings, Roy Lee Wooten, Doris Johnson, Roy Wooten Jr., Marty Wooten, and Cindy Smith, as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, great-great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends whose lives were touched by his presence.
Julian will be remembered for his hardworking hands, his love of cars and racing, his quiet strength, and most of all, the love he had for his family. His life was built around the people he loved, and his memory will live on through the many generations of his family who carry his love and legacy with them.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing that his earthly journey is complete and that he is reunited with his beloved Leona and the loved ones who went before him.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Wooten. Your race is finished, your legacy lives on, and you will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be officiated by Bro. Ritchie Self and Donnie Riggins.
