

Anita Sadowski, 82, of Brunswick, died Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. Born October 28, 1934 in Alpena, MI; she was the daughter of the late Alvin A. Ash and the late Mildred Ash Dekette. Mrs. Sadowski was a piano teacher, an Artex distributor and the Glynn County Red Cross Director for many years. She had many accolades and recognitions during her lifetime some of which included with the Boy Scouts of America where she received the Silver Beaver Award in 2000 and the Lifetime Recognition Award in 2013. She also served as Brunswick Chapter President with the Pilot Club from 1988-1989 and Life Line Coordinator. Mrs. Sadowski was also a member of the Navy Wives Club since 1960, Eastern Star since 1970, the Ladies Auxiliary of Fleet Reserve since 1984, the American Business Woman's Association since 1978 and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Mrs. Sadowski had a passion for teaching and playing music and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sadowski was preceded in death by her son Michael Nielson and her sister Deanna Mazze.
Survivors include her husband Donald Sadowski, her four children Catherine Dukes(James), Linda Gordon(Joe), Russell Sadowski, and Ronald Sadowski; her siblings Allan Thomas, Steve Thomas, and Juanita Thomas Waite; her ten grandchildren Jody Hernandez, Christopher Gordon, James Edward Dukes, Jeremy Nielson, Jennifer Nielson, Peyton Hosman, Alexandria Sadowski, Taduesz Sadowski, Renee Jacob, and Paul Gottschalk; her seven great grandchildren Joshua Gordon, Shane Young, Aubry Gordon, Autum Gordon, Eric Nielson, Keller Hosman, and Keegan Hosman.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 25, 2017 followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Bert Cramer officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Serving active pallbearers will be Carlton Shane Young, Joshua Gordon, James Edward Dukes, Tadeusz Sadowski, Ronald Sadowski, and Russell Sadowski.
A reception will follow the interment at Altama Presbyterian Church.
