She is predeceased by her parents Hoke Smith Williams and Catherine Readdick Williams, her sister Margaret Williams Bacon, her brother Russell Wayne Williams and her husband Adam Strain Poppell, Jr. She is also predeceased by many dear friends such as Elenore Lanasa, Johnny Ruth Jackson, Sara Jennings and Mona Wynn. Those who knew any of them anticipate an incredible reunion at the gates of heaven.

She is also survived by her cat/companion Ice Cream, who continues to guard the house at Tolomato.
The family will receive visitors at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, Georgia on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral/celebration of life will be held at graveside at the St. Andrews Cemetery, Darien, Georgia on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Her children and grandchildren Adam Strain Poppell, III, Joseph Fleming Poppell, Ty Scott Poppell, Joseph Hoke Poppell, Noah Peyton Douglas, Adam Preston Poppell, and Patrick James Poppell will serve as pallbearers.
