Anna Dolora Deatherage Dellinger, 77 of Darien, GA went to be with the Lord with her family by her side on May 3, 2013. The services will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 at 6PM in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and will be open for the public. Anna Dolora was born on the 19th of October 1936 to the late William & Esta Cast Deatherage of Capitol Hill; Oklahoma City, OK. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving son Frederick J Newcombe JR and is survived by her husband of 40 years Robert E. Dellinger, her sister Carolyn Duff and her husband Kennith, her Brother Howard (Sonny) Deatherage, her brother Jay Deatherage, her loving daughter Jerri D. Mentzer, her son-in-law Wayne Mentzer, her daughter in-law Mary Rice, granddaughters Angela and husband Joshua Oleary – Wyatt, Elisha and husband Todd Wolstenholme, Jennifer and her husband Brian Meyer, Ashley and her husband Christopher Sexton, great grandchildren Micah, Josiah, Reese and Talan. She was also a loving Grandmother to Sarina, Marisa, Ben & Mikey and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she was a vibrant and talented with the gift of charm and beauty. She often could be found, baking cookies, bread, cupcakes, painting ceramics and sewing with her grandchildren & great grandchildren. Anna had a love for art, painting, reading and researching her family ancestry and genealogy. Anna was a talented artist who owned a ceramic and antique furniture store with her husband Bob in Savannah, GA. In her 50s Anna returned to school to the University of Georgia to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a certification in Special Education. She substitute taught in McIntosh County and dedicated the remainder of her working career to helping educate and love the troubled youth of the Youth Detention Center of McIntosh County. Anna fought an amazing battle with cancer, she is a true fighter and survivor, and she was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
