

Victoria Annette Muggridge, of St. Simons Island, died Sunday, August 1, 2010. She was born to Olin Carlile Fountain and Queen Victoria Palmer Fountain on February 21, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Georgia, where she joined her brothers O.C., Frank and George and sister Doris. Annette met Bobby Muggridge while away at College in 1963 and after dating for a short period of time Bobby proposed while on a date. They were united in Holy Matrimony on August 15, 1963. After marriage Bobby and Annette settled down in Brunswick, and after six years of marriage they were blessed with their only child, Bob, on December 4, 1969.
Annette taught school in the Glynn County School system for 30 years. She retired from Jane Macon Middle School in 1995. She enjoyed to travel before and after her retirement, and was a mastered artist. She loved to oil paint and had a small gallery of paintings. She also loved to doodle and sketch.
Annette was a member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church on St. Simons Island and a member of Elks Lodge 691 Auxiliary and the Brunswick Jr. Woman’s Club for many years.
She was preceded in death by both parents, a sister Doris Fountain Douglas, and brothers Olin Carlile Jr., George Edgar and Frank Eugene Fountain, as well as her mother-in-law Mary P. Muggridge.
She is survived by her husband Bobby C. Muggridge; son Charles “Bob” Muggridge; daughter-in-law Amy R. Muggridge; grandchildren Chandler and Ansley; father-in-law W.H. Muggridge; 3 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Father Tony Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Barry Copeland, Eric Croft, Steve Douglas, Carl Fountain, Danny Fountain, Donald Fountain, and Lance Hutcheson. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hospice of the Golden Isles, SICU Nursing staff, Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Croft, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Croft, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Copeland and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark.
