Barbara Ann Cox

Barbara Ann Cox, 77, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at St. Vincent's Hospital Riverside in Jacksonville. Born on August 15, 1948, in Coffee County to the late Allan E. Hutcheson and Dorothy Thompson Hutcheson, she was a longtime resident of Glynn County and a 1966 graduate of Glynn Academy.

As a dedicated housewife and mother, Barbara’s life was defined by her love for her family and her unwavering faith. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God denomination and a current member of Bay Harbour Church of God. Over the years, she served in various ministries at both Norwich St. Church of God and Golden Isles Church of God, contributing her talents to the choir, children’s ministry, and senior adult ministry.

Barbara was known for being full of wit and humor, and she enjoyed shopping, cooking, traveling, and helping others. While she cherished spending time with all her friends and family, her greatest joy was found in her son, Allan, and her granddaughter, Daisy.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Thompson Hutcheson; her son, Allan Alfred Cox (Beth); and her granddaughter, Daisy Cox. She is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Shedlowski (Tony), Cindy Harris Mock (Brad), and Allison Morgan (Clifford), along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and her

"princess pals" Colby Rae Williams and Leia Clouatre.

Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Bay Harbour Church of God, with Dr. John Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that contributions be made to the Bay Harbour Church of God Youth Department, 3210 US HWY 82, Brunswick, GA 31523.
