Barbara Borders Foster

Barbara Borders Foster, 81, of Brunswick, GA. died Friday September 17, 2010 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Tuesday September 21, 2010 at the College Place United Methodist Church with Pastor Rob Grotheer officiating. Interment will follow the service In Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida at 3 pm. Active pallbearers will be Steve Kelley, Mike Kelley, Daniel Kelley, Chris Prowant, and John Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Borders, Dr. Grubb and staff, and the College Place United Methodist Church Co-Ed Sunday School Class.

Family will receive friends from 6 pm. – 8 pm. Monday September 20, 2010 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Foster was a native of Huntington West Virginia, born May 6, 1929, to the late Beatrice Brown Borders and the Late Denver Borders. She had been a resident of Jacksonville, Fl. for twenty two years, and a resident of Brunswick, GA. for thirty-one years. Mrs. Foster was a 1947 graduate of Fort Gay High School. She also graduated from Marshall University in Huntington West Virginia where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Foster was an Educator, homemaker, and a member of the College Place United Methodist Church and the Co-Ed Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband of fifty three years Roy D. Foster of Brunswick, Ga., two sons Mike Kelley and wife Sophia of Brunswick, GA. and Steve Kelley and wife Cathy of Keystone Heights FL., two granddaughters Michelle Taylor and husband John of Brunswick, GA. and Christy Prowant and husband Chris of Gainesville, FL. a grandson Daniel Kelley and wife Misty of Keystone Heights FL., a brother Dennis Borders and wife Linda of Bryceville FL. six great-grandchildren Kelley Taylor, Jessica Taylor, John Taylor, Jr. all of Brunswick, GA., Carolyn Kelley, Roy Kelley both of Keystone Heights, FL., and Lainey Prowant of Gainesville, FL., and several; nieces and nephews.
