Barbara Gaylord Patton

Barbara Gaylord Patton, 78, of Brunswick departed this life Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Hospice of Golden Isles. Graveside funeral services will be conducted August 14th, at 2:30pm in Chapel Park Cemetery.

Born May 13, 1948 in Fort Madison, Iowa to the late Charles Forrest Gaylord and Kathryn Cecil Denly, she had been a resident of Brunswick for many years. Mrs. Patton was an admissions/out patience admin at the Glynn Brunswick Memorial Hospital and Southeast Georgia Health System for a little over 27 years. She also worked as an accounts receivable/payables admin for Golden Isles Office Equipment for 10 years and retired to help take care of her grandson. She was a member of First Baptist of Brunswick for many years where she taught on occasion Sunday School and over the last few years had joined the First Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chapman Patton, Jr., and siblings, Charles Richard Gaylord, Darrol Dwayne Gaylord, and Donetta Joann Gaylord.

Survivors include her children, Christina Whisenant and William Eggleston both of Brunswick, three grandchildren, Taylor, Michael and Dawson, two brothers, Forrest Dean Gaylord and Willis “Bill” Martin Gaylord, two sisters, Norma Louise Bohenkamp and her “womb mate” Beverly Gaylord Willdrick, many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews and a few neighborhood “adopted” children.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to donate to Hospice of Golden Isles.
