

and graduated in 1952 from Glynn Academy. She also attended Perry Business School. In August of 1954, she married Robert M. McGregor, the marriage was blessed with a daughter, Robin and two sons, Robert and Richard (Scottie).
Betty entered the workforce as the woman's editor for the Glynn Reporter. Later, she took a position at the radio station WGIG where she was hostess for a midday talk show. In 1974, she started work at the Brunswick Police Dept. and in 1983 she became administrative assistant to the Chief of Police. She served there for 39 years.
She has had many honors and awards including: being nominated for Young Woman of the Year in 1970, BPD's Civilian of the Year in 1990, City of Brunswick's Civilian of the year in 1990, and a Award from Senator Paul Coverdell for serving as Chairperson for the Glynn County Operation Drug Free Georgia in 1999. She served as President of the Brunswick Woman's Club from 1992 until 1994. She also served as a board member of the Hospital Authority from 1997 until 2005.
Betty was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church for most of her life.
Betty is survived by a son, Robert, a daughter, Robin and a four legged granddaughter, Presley.
Her service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00am at Emanuel Methodist Church. Flowers may be sent to the church at 245 Ratcliffe Rd., Brunswick, GA 31523.
