Beverly Bruce Burns

Beverly Ann Bruce Burns, 89, of St. Simons Island departed this life Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Memorial services will be conducted at 10 am Friday, January 20, 2023 at Christ Church Frederica with Father Tom Purdy officiating. Born October 6, 1933 in Vero Beach, Florida to the late Edward C. and Elizabeth Baldwin Bruce, she had been a resident of St. Simons Island for 74 years. Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Glynn Academy class of 1951. She was a homemaker raising four children, and enjoyed tennis, sailing, gardening, photography, playing bridge and the outdoors. Mrs. Burns was also a member of Christ Church Frederica. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Clifford Burns, Sr., a daughter, Terry Jane Burns, a sister Betty Bruce Fendig, and a brother, Edward C. Bruce, III. Survivors include three children, Leigh B. Lane, Robert Burns, Jr., and Bill Burns, all of St. Simons Island, six grandchildren, Adam Younce, Lauren Lane, Bobby Burns, Rose Barber, Aletha Mann, and Lindy Lane, five great grandchildren, Magnolia Mann, Huck Mann, Leon Regalado, Avonlea Mann, and Beckham Mann.
