Brittany had an infectious smile and glow about her that could light up even the darkest room. She struggled throughout her life but never once complained coming out of all the many surgeries she went through all you could see is that big smile and always said, “You see mama. I told you that I was going to be okay”. She was truly an inspiration to many. Everyone has a purpose in life and Brittany’s purpose was to constantly remind us that no matter what we face in life we can overcome anything. The best way to describe her is a ray of sunshine. She always provided sunshine to anyone that may be having a cloudy day. She enjoyed reading, doing word seek puzzles, watching True Crime TV, watching animal videos on her iPad and listening to music. Her most memorable times were going to her favorite concerts with her mom and the annual birthday trips to the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island. She enjoyed being spoiled by them and they all got to know her very well and had a big birthday celebration waiting on her as soon as we rolled her through the front doors. She was forever telling them all thank you for making me feel so special. She was always grateful for everything anyone would ever do for her. Another very special moment was when she had a boudoir photo shoot done. She said, “Mom, I finally for once in my life feel beautiful”. Brittany always felt she wasn’t beautiful because she was different. But that one day literally changed her life and the way she looked at herself. The one other thing she truly enjoyed was getting tattoos, and each tattoo had a special meaning to her. Her favorite tattoo was the one on her forearm that read, “Now I am a warrior” and she was, indeed, a true-life warrior.
Brittany was blessed with a large circle of family and friends whom she loved dearly. She loved with her whole heart, especially her mom and little brother, Blake. She also was very protective over those she loved and if you hurt someone she truly loved then watch out because then that person would deal with the wrath of Brittany.
Brittany was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary E. Durant and Joseph W. Durant; paternal grandparents, Larry Scales and Gail Scoggins; someone very special, Jimmy Crosby; maternal great-great-grandparents, Thomas and Ella Waters, Cora Irene Hall and Archie and Mattie Anderson; and maternal great-great-great-grandparents, Leslie and Janie Hunter.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia A. Anderson of Brunswick; brother, Blake Allen Anderson of Brunswick; three bonus sisters, January Harding of Townsend, Allysa Morris of Evans, GA and Macy Rotz Williams of Brunswick; maternal grandfather, Joseph Anderson of Nahunta; great-great grandfather, Bob Hall of Nahunta and a bonus nanni, Mary Crosby of Brunswick. Her late grandpa Joe Durant’s extended family held a special place in her heart also. Her ex-stepdad Pat Barlow was special to her because he was the one man that truly brought much happiness to her mom. She will forever be thankful for him. She had too many aunts and uncles to mention and they were all very special to Brittany.
