

Capt. Douglas Scott Jacobs, 62, of Valona, departed this life to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 14, 2021 at his residence. A private family graveside memorial inurnment will take place at a later date.
Born July 26, 1958 in Savannah, Georgia to Lawrence and Gay S. Jacobs, Scott became a Licensed Boat Captain at the age of 17. He was a commercial fisherman and owner of a shrimp net business as well. Scott attended McIntosh Academy and was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County. He enjoyed bible study and was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Scott also enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family and friends. But nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his granddaughters. His infectious laugh and caring spirit for all will be missed. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Francis “Laddy” Jacobs, Jr., and Lawrence Anthony “Tony” Jacobs.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Jacobs White and husband Brady of North Pole, AK, and Kathryn Jacobs Baker and husband Scott of Midway, two grandchildren, Alexandria June Baker and Ava Grace White, parents Lawrence and Gay S. Jacobs, a sister Meta Jacobs Willis and husband James all of Valona, and several nieces and nephews.
