Carlos was a minister at the House of Prayer in Mims, Fla. He loved gardening and planting flowers in his yard and enjoyed long walks by the water. He loved sharing God’s Word, playing the piano and singing gospel songs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Molabelle Helms; two sons, Carlos Otis Helms, Jr. and Kenneth Dwayne Helms, and a sister, Geri Luke.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Ann Maynard and Melissa Renee Roberts, both of Brunswick; four grandsons, Christopher Ratcliff of Brunswick, Eric Maynard of Augusta, GA, and Brandon and Jacob Maynard of Brunswick; four sisters, Shirley Kittles of Titusville, FL, Carolyn Kittles of Ocala, FL, Margie Newman of Idaho and Frances Glover of Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
