

Carol was born in Waterloo, IA the daughter of the late Ray L Irons and the late Caroline E Irons. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Richard John Henderson; two sisters, Norma Apling and Karen Irons; also three brothers, Leroy Irons, Allan Irons, and Wayne Jon Irons. She resided in Brunswick and retired from FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) as an Employee Relation Specialist. She was currently a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. For her dedicated service, Carol received the Board of Directors Award of Distinction. She was also an active member for many years at College Place United Methodist Church. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross for many years.
Carol will be remembered for her infectious smile and her cooking. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Carol and her sister Nancy enjoyed several cruises together. Carol also loved the outdoors and caring for her beautiful flowers in her Gardens. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends. Carol be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Richard Paul Henderson and John James Henderson; her sister, Nancy Iron Mulder; also her two grandchildren, Shelia Marie Henderson and Pamela Ann Donaldson (Roger); a sister-in-law, Rose Iron. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be held between 10:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick with Rev. Tab Miller officiating. The burial will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to College Place U.M.C. Building Fund or the Humane Society of Southeast Coastal Georgia.
