Carolyn D. Lanier, 76, of Brunswick, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at her residence. The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, 2011 from 6PM until 8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. There will be a private memorial service for the family at a later date.
Born October 27, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Wilmer C. and Carolyn S. Durden, she was a retired educator, having taught at Glynn Academy and Brunswick High. Mrs. Lanier was a 1956 graduate of the University of Georgia where she obtained a BBA. She had been a resident of Glynn County since 1965, and enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fenton A. Lanier, Jr., and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Lanier and wife Elaine, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Carter “Corky” Lanier and wife Kelly of Brunswick, two daughters, Leslie Lanier and husband Beaver Tillettt of Ocracoke, NC, and Allison Tullos and husband Fred of Brunswick, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to be made to Heartland Hospice, 664 Scranton Rd. # 103, Brunswick, GA 31520, or the charity of the donors choice.
