It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Roberts on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Born on August 27, 1944, Carol lived a full and vibrant life of 82 years, marked by warmth, laughter, and an unwavering love for the people around her.
Carol spent her early childhood on naval bases around the world, including a memorable stretch in the Philippines. She graduated from Glynn Academy and went on to become a Registered Nurse, dedicating 50 years of service to the profession. During her long career at Southeast Georgia Health System, she worked in a variety of positions, including staff nurse in many settings, nurse manager of the emergency department, and clinical educator. Her professional life reflected the same steady care, competence, and dedication she brought to everything she did.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Rose E. Wright; her father, Vernon M. Wright; and her sister, JoAnn. She is survived by many loving cousins who will miss her dearly.
Those who knew Carol will always remember her sharp wit, ready humor, and remarkable gift for turning any gathering into a celebration. She was, quite simply, the life of the party. Summers held a special place in her heart—trips to visit family in Vermont filled with market browsing, long lunches, auction adventures, and the simple joy of bringing home armloads of fresh vegetables from relatives’ gardens. She shopped until she dropped and savored every moment of it.
Carol’s spirit was generous, playful, and full of light. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, connection, and the quiet knowledge that time spent with the people you love is time well spent. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the good fortune to know her.
