Cheryl Kay O’Neal, 71, of Darien passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. Born in Portland,IN, she lived in McIntosh County most of her life. She was a beloved caregiver and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick & Naomi Werst, sister Karen Armstrong, husband Haynes F. O’Neal and companion Billy Corbett. Survivors are her sister Sharon Dunn of Deland, FL; Children, James (Amy) Werst of Orange City, FL, Sean (Katie) O’Neal, Mike O’Neal and Lori Thomas of Darien, GA; Grandchildren Jamie Werst, Rylee Werst, Madison (Jacob) Ammons, Abigail Werst, Chelsea Grooms, Jordan (Carlton) Sawyer, Corbin (Jason) Poppell, Harmony Wood and Hope Wood; three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Edo Miller Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2pm, with Pastor Mike Lynn officiating. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
