OBITUARY

Christopher Blount "Kip" Davis

Christopher Blount, Kip, Davis, 70, of St. Simons Island, died peacefully at home following a courageous battle with colon cancer, on October 29, 2012.

Mr. Davis, a native of Atlanta, was the son of Robert Carter Davis, MD, and Hilda Brown Davis. He was a graduate of Georgia State University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. During his lengthy career in banking and real estate, he was an executive of Citicorp, Scudder, Stevens and Clark Investment Management, Citibank, and SouthTrust Bank. He also worked with Resolution Trust Corporation. The final years of his career were spent restructuring and rebuilding failing banks in several Southeastern cities. In addition, he was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He retired to St. Simons Island in 2007 and was an active volunteer with the Humane Society and other local organizations and a faithful member of the congregation at St. Williams Roman Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dana Davis McGee, and a brother Theodore Dowdell Davis, all of Atlanta.

He is survived by siblings, Dr. R. Carter Davis, Jr. (Dinah) of Highlands, North Carolina; Malin Davis Chamberlain (Walter) of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and Render Stephen Davis (Helen) of Atlanta. He is also fondly remembered by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends.

A memorial mass will be offered at St. Williams at a future date.
