

Clyde joined the US Army in 1964. He climbed the ranks to Sergeant First Class, retiring in 1984. Clyde earned many medals and awards including the Bronze Star. After retirement, Clyde spent several years working as an Investigator with the Ware County Sheriff's Office then, in 1991, went to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center as a Sr. Firearms Instructor. He retired from FLETC in 2012.
Clyde loved gardening and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a philanthropist who gave freely and regularly to many organizations including the Disabled Veterans, ASPCA and Alzheimers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Aliaga McCoy of Brunswick; three sons, Clyde F. “Bo” McCoy, Jr. (wife Jill) of Chillicothe, OH, Sean A. McCoy (wife Tanya) of Homerville, GA and Paris McCoy of Brunswick; five grandchildren, Devin McCoy of Waycross, GA, Lucas McCoy of Brunswick, Baili McCoy of Buford, GA, Chloe Lucas and Lauren Lucas of Chillicothe, OH; Great Grandchildren, Oktober McCoy, Cannon McCoy, and Valley McCoy, all of Waycross; a brother, Grover Randall McCoy (wife Candy) of Waynesville, NC; nieces and nephews, Tammy Williams of Nashville, TN, Rose Konczal and Earnest “Ernie” McCoy, both of Detroit, Randy McCoy and Ricky McCoy, both of Houston, Shannon Castsell of Nashville, TN, John Randall McCoy of Spanaway, WA, Dustin Randall McCoy of Waycross and Drew McCoy of Waynesville, NC
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave, Brunswick, Georgia 31520. The funeral service will be Friday, February 25, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the funeral home Chapel.
Clyde will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, 210 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, Virginia 22211.
