

Connie Ringle Joyner, age 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She had been under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles for several weeks following a long battle with dementia.
Connie was born on November 1, 1949, in Brunswick, Georgia, where she lived her entire life. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy, Class of 1967. She worked in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years, including at several hotels on Jekyll Island, where she spent the majority of her career.
Connie was a proud grandmother, affectionately known as “GaGa,” and she loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she considered her greatest joy. She was an avid crafter, always busy crocheting, quilting, or making something special for others.
She is survived by her beloved children: daughter Wendi (Jim) O’Connor and son William Ringle, both of Brunswick, Georgia; step-son Jason (Tiffany) Joyner and stepdaughter Holly (Dell) Berg, both of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren: Tess Ringle, Kennedy Ringle, Carley O’Connor, Sydney O’Connor, Dylan Joyner, Cameron Joyner, Austin Boyd, and Brandon Boyd; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nell Marie (Don) Nelson of Yulee, Florida; her brother, Alvin (Karen) Dezern of Brunswick, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Joyner Jr., and her parents, Alvin and Valeria Dezern.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.
