Connie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved them deeply, and everything she did reflected the importance they held in her heart. She was a devoted caregiver to her late husband, faithfully caring for him with love, patience, and compassion.
Those who knew Connie will remember her love for the color purple, the games she enjoyed playing on her tablet, and the special place her animals held in her heart. She also loved her church, Darien Church of God, where her faith and church family were an important part of her life.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie A. Poppell and Jesse “Jim” Poppell Jr.; and her sister, Sharon P. Head.
Connie is survived by her sons, Christopher L. Robinson and Mayo N. Robinson III (Chrystal), both of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Brandon, Destiny, Caiden, Ryleigh, and Kolby, all of Brunswick; her brothers, Terry Wheeler of New York and Steve Poppell of Darien; and her sister, Janice Adams of Brunswick. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Connie’s life was centered around love—love for her family, her animals, her church, and those entrusted to her care. Although she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through everyone whose life she touched.
