Cora Lee Purvis, 95, of Hortense, formerly of Brunswick, departed this life Monday, February 10, 2025 at SGHS Camden. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday, February 18, 2024 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Grimes officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery.
Born January 25, 1930 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Elidge and Matilda Ella N. King, she was a nurses assistance at SGHS Brunswick. She was a member of Antioch Holiness Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in Brunswick GA and in the past 5 years she lived in Hortense GA with her granddaughter/caretaker Belinda Howe and her husband Charles Howe. Mrs. Purvis enjoyed going to church, cooking and spending time with her beloved family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 wonderful Husbands, Norwood Barnard and Thomas M. Purvis, siblings William King, Edgar King, Roscoe King, Lillie King Griner, Claude King, Quincy King, Herman King, daughters, Geraldine Hendricks and Gail Barnard Johnson, Patricia Richardson, Gail Faulkner, and Vickie Purvis, grandchildren Sonya Thomas, Christopher Purvis.
Survivors include daughters Josephine Kindle and Frances Davis, grandchildren Crystal Bender, Sandra DePalma, Connie Kindle, Belinda Howe, R. Andrew Johnson, Keith Hendricks, Lori Hand, Tommy Eades, Richard Roland, Krystal Coger, Lexy Odum, Devin Cargile, several wonderful great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Tommy Eades, Richard Roland, Scott Strean, Colby Hendricks, Buddy Howe, and Larry Hamilton. Honorary Pallbearers are Joshua Thomas, Keith Hendricks, and Timothy Harper.
