Corneille Rylander Lucado

Corneille Rylander Lucado, 82, of Saint Simons Island, GA passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Marsh's Edge. A graveside service will be held 11 am Monday August 22, 2011 at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on Saint. Simons Island, GA with Rev. Dr. John Stephens officiating. Internment will follow the service.

Corneille was born March 20, 1929 in Americus, Georgia to the late Corneille Torrance Rylander and the late Arthur Rylander. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Sea Island for 25 years before moving to Marsh's Edge. Prior to residing on Sea Island, she lived with her husband for 20 years in Darien, Connecticut where she was a member of the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk.

Corneille is a graduate of both Saint Mary's Junior College in Raleigh, NC and the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She received her BA in teaching and taught second grade at The R. L. Hope Elementary school in Atlanta, Georgia.

She is also a member of the Capital City Club of Atlanta and the Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club of Saint Simons Island, where she enjoyed many wonderful friends and years of playing Bridge. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

In addition to Corneille's parents she is preceded in death by her husband William Webster Lucado.

Survivors include her children Corneille (Neil) Lucado of Saint Simons Island, Ga and William (Webster) Lucado of Gray, GA
