Ed was a commercial shrimp fisherman for forty-seven years before retiring. He and his wife owed two restaurants, Catfish Queen and The Forks. He was an outdoorsman and shrimp boating was his life. Ed was a hardworking man and good provider for his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Nelma Lane; sons, Danny (Lori), Butch (Charlene), Snapper (Kristi), and Bill Silva. Sister, Claudine Morgan, Brother-in-law, James Trull. Grandchildren; Kellie Brooke Forehand (Justin), Chasity Payne (Tim), Alisha Cawley (Joe), Lane Silva ( Morgan), Trey Lane, Kolton Lane, Kiyah Lane, Bailey Whited, Harmony Whited, Laney Forehand, Zoey Forehand, Case Cox, Joey Cawley, Addilyn Cawley, Ruby Payne and Sam Payne.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Q.Z. Lane and Jewell Dubberly Lane; daughter, Saundra Kaye Silva; sisters, Joy Trull and Pauline Padayo.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 3:30 pm at the Little Memorial Cemetery on Mt Pleasant Road in Hortense, Georgia. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for memorial contributions made in Ed’s memory to Promedica Hospice.
