Danny Herold

DANNY MINCHEW HEROLD, 85, pf St. Simons Island died at her residence on Friday November 5, 2010. Survivors include her step-son George Herold of Seattle, WA, a nephew Kenyon Drew of St. Simons, a step-daughter in-law Cici Herold of Sutter, CA. and four step- grandchildren, Kathy, Brian, Michael, Cindy, and a great-niece Wendy Park of Brantley County, GA.

Mrs. Herold was preceded in death by her husband, LtCDR Charles (Chuck) Herold, USN (retired). She has been a resident of St. Simons since the early 1930’s. Mrs. Herold was born in Baxley, Georgia to Mr. and Mrs. Dan Minchew and she was one of six children. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy and Mercer University in Macon. Her mother owned the Stanton Inn, a delightful place to eat on St. Simons.

Mrs. Herold was employed by the Coastal Bank for many years as well as Hercules and the Naval Air Station, St. Simons.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. She had a host of friends and everyone loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA. 31525
