

David Carl Idleman, 80, of Darien, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Southeast Georgia Health System. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 10AM at Darien United Methodist Church with Military Honors.
Mr. Idleman was born January 30, 1934 to the late Emmett and Marie Idleman in St. Louis. He served his first tour in the Military with the Navy and retired with the Army putting in 21 years; he was very patriotic. He was a member of the Live Oak Masonic Lodge #137 and an avid fisherman and sportsman, rooting for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was also an honorary Kentucky colonel.
Survivors include his wife: Vermelle Idleman of Darien; his children: Tracie C Idleman Yates (Leslie) of Brunswick; Meegan A. Idleman Perkins (Dan) of Elsmere, Kentucky; and David Idleman, Jr. (Shea) of Brunswick; three grandchildren: Christopher A. Yates, Garrett A. Perkins and Austin G. Perkins and one great grandchild: Selby R. Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Masonic Children’s Home in Macon, Georgia.
