Dell Ellis Knight

Dell Ellis Knight, 77, of Bristol Georgia, previously of St. Simons, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 at his home, with his wife by his side. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be conducted at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4 pm until 6 pm.

Mr. Knight was born July 25, 1945 in Jesup, Georgia and moved to Brunswick shortly afterwards. Dell attended Arco Elementary School where he would be classmates with Joy Boatright in first and second grade. Dell and Joy would later graduate from Glynn Academy together in 1963. They married in 1965 and settled in Brunswick to raise their three sons.

Dell was a car enthusiast who enjoyed restoring antique cars in his spare time. He worked for the Southern Bell Company for 31 years before changing professions and selling real estate in the Golden Isles for 20 years. Upon retiring in 2019, Dell and Joy moved out to the country.

Dell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Joyce Boatright Knight, sons Vann Patrick Knight (Colleen) and Swen Garrick Knight (Betsy), grandchildren Lindsey Bena Jordan (Jacob), Vann Patrick Knight, Andrew Winn Knight (Brittney), Anna Joy Weeder (Kevin), Bankston Ellis Knight, and Swen Garrick Knight Jr., daughter-in-law Karen Knight, sister Joanne Lowe (Jerry), brother Jimmy Knight, and faithful canine companion Maggie Mae. He is predeceased by his parents James Ellis and Elois Arnett Knight, and son Jeffrey Lindsey Knight.
