Shane was born July 3, 1965, in Brunswick, Georgia, the son of Betty Jackson Smith and the late Delma Hoke Smith and was a high school graduate. He has resided in Gardi for the past eighteen years with his wife, Becky Smith. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. Shane was a retired truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith and will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Shane could always brighten up someone’s day with a smile.
Left to cherish Shane’s memories are his loving wife, Becky Smith; his daughters, Danielle Smith and Lindsey Smith (Jason Neal), and grandson, Liam Neal; her children, Brian Whitfield (Becky); Tabitha Savich, Christina Foster, and Amy Capers; his devoted mother, Betty Smith; a sister, Kelli Horne (Gary), and nephew, Bradley King. Shane is also survived by numerous loving aunts, an uncle, and cousins, and many friends and loved ones.
Shane loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed grilling out and became known by many as the “Grill Master”. He enjoyed woodworking and was a master carpenter. Shane was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends during the hours of 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 12, 2019, in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Crandall officiating. The interment will follow the service in Chapel Park Cemetery.
