Gregarious, friendly and always generous, Don was a world traveler who loved great food, fine wine and most of all, family.
Dominic John Biondi (Don) was born to Angelina and Joseph Biondi in Newark, NJ on February 19th, 1936. A proud Italian American, Don attended Hofstra University on a basketball scholarship and served in the U.S Army until his honorable discharge in 1965. While on duty he met the love of his life Gail Justice, a southern girl from North Carolina, and they were married for 63 years.
Professionally, he spent his career in the world of sales and marketing. Don served as President of Mechtronics Corporation in Stamford, CT and oversaw the creation of point-of-purchase displays for a wide array of world class clients, including Timex, Kodak, and Seiko.
Don and Gail retired to Amelia Island Plantation, FL in the mid 90’s where he enjoyed tennis, golf, swimming and hosting family and friends in their beautiful home. He even completed a 1.2-mile open ocean swim at the age of 72!
He is survived by his wife, Gail, sons Dominic and Christopher, daughter Dianne, son-in-law, Rob, and his beloved grandchildren who adored their PopPop: Brooks, Braden, Tessa, and Quinn. Many other relatives and friends will miss him dearly and no doubt look back on his life and exploits with much love and fondness.
Dominic Biondi was 89 years old and passed away peacefully with his family at his side.
