A 1964 graduate of Glynn Academy, he married Jennifer Ann Deen of Brunswick in 1968. He received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech, served in the United States Army for three years, and then returned to Georgia Tech for his master’s degree in electrical engineering. While working in research and development at IBM in Boca Raton, Florida, he was instrumental in the early design of personal computers. In 1981 he returned to St. Simons with his family and worked as an information systems manager at Hercules Incorporated until 2005.
Mr. Doyle is survived by his wife, Jennie; daughter, Amy Doyle; son-in-law, Andrew Hall; three grandchildren, Alex, Duncan, and Daphne Hall; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Church Frederica at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
