

Donald E. Sadowski, 91, of Brunswick, died peacefully at home Sunday, February 25, 2018. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Josh Gordon, Shane Young, Wayne Doke, Greg Sadowski, and Tadesuz B. Sadowski will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Sadowski was born on January 15, 1927 in Gardner, Massachusetts to the late Tadeusz and Veronica S. Sadowski. He was a thirty-year Navy veteran retiring as Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Sadowski served in World War II, Korea and two tours to Vietnam aboard the USS America. Duty stations included Memphis, TN, Port Lyautey, French Morocco, Pleasantville, NJ, Rota, Spain, Jacksonville, FL, Quonset Point, RI, Pensacola, FL, Glynco, GA, Norfolk, VA and Ford Island, Oahu, Hawaii. He has been a resident of Glynn County for over 40 years. Mr. Sadowski was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, was an avid gardener, stamp collector, and had many Alaskan adventures panning for gold and precious stones. He joined the Boy Scouts as a teenager and lead Troop/Pack 213 for over 33 years having achieved the prestigious Silver Beaver Award.
Mr. Sadowski was pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years, Anita Ash Sadowski, as well as his parents and two brothers.
Mr. Sadowski will be missed by his friends and his four children, Catherine S. Dukes (James) of Switzerland, FL, Linda S. Gordon (Joe-deceased) of Brunswick, Russell Sadowski of Yulee, FL, and Ronald Sadowski of Brunswick, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Friday, March 2nd at 10 am until the Funeral Mass at 11am.
