
Born October 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Christopher C. and Addie J. Tuten of Blackshear, Ga. After graduating from Blackshear High School, she married the late Wallace E. Stuckey (also of Blackshear) in 1945, and was preceded by his death after 52 years, in 1998. Predeceased also by three sisters, Eva Dixon of Blackshear, Waunell Jordan and Latrell Moore of Waycross, and by three brothers, Alvin Randal Tuten of Baxley, Dr. Chris Tuten of Savannah, and Dr. Gene Tuten of Bainbridge.
Doris (also known as “Dot”) was a member of St Marks Episcopal Church in Brunswick and an active dedicated member of the St. Agnes Guild. For 20 years, she was involved in volunteering to work for the church’s Thrift Store, and assisted with many special functions for St Mark’s Towers. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, and working in the garden with her husband.
She is survived by a daughter Margaret (Joel C.) Williams; a granddaughter, Leila (Danny L.) Wright of Sioux Falls, S.D.; four great-grandchildren (Collin, Caroline, Gabriel, and Avery); and two sisters Fran Wood of Blackshear and Gerry Moody of Tifton.
In keeping with her request, a private family grave side service will be held at the Blackshear Cemetery.
The family also wishes to extend their gratitude to the Hospice of the Golden Isles for their help and support during the final months of her life.
