Dorothy A. Scheffer, 75, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, formerly of Westfield, New Jersey, departed this life at her residence in Marshes Edge on St. Simons Island, Friday, September 2 016. A celebration of her life will be held at 11Am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Marshes Edge.
Born January 23, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Peter and Helen K. Rosin, she was an educator for those with special needs. She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She had been a resident of St. Simons since 2013.
Survivors include her husband, William Scheffer of St. Simons Island, a daughter Elaine Mangum and husband Charles of Boston, MA, four grandchildren, James Mangum, Chandler Mangum, W. Courtland Mangum, and Charles E. Mangum, and a brother, Peter Rosin of NJ.
