Dorrie Wells Adams, 55, of Brunswick, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Sterling church of God with Rev. Jimmy Walden, Rev. Ronnie Clark, Rev. Earl Lamey and Rev. Larry Giles officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Don Adams, Michael Griffis, Ryan Burchett, Jay Wells, Mike Wells, Terry Wells, Robbie Wells, Randy Worth, Rudy Underwood and Austin Wells serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Women’s Ministry of Sterling Church of God.
Born June 2, 1955 in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Buford Francis Wells and Mamie Doris Manning, she was a retired lab technician with the Glynn County Health department after 24 years of service. A lifelong resident of Glynn County, Mrs. Adams was a member of Sterling Church of God. She was a caring mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Adams also enjoyed beach activities and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, John C. Adams of Brunswick, three daughters, Jeannie Stamey and husband John of Townsend, April Keller and Sara Adams both of Brunswick, a son, Gregg Dowling and wife Sandy of Brunswick, six grandchildren, Kayla Underwood, Amber Stamey, Kirsten Keller, Chase Keller, John Keller, Justin Case, two step grandchildren, Marcus Stamey and Tabitha Stamey, brother, Joe Wells and wife Paula of Charleston, SC, step father, Edmund Schurknight of Charleston, SC, two aunts, Mary Wells of Brunswick and Ann Chewning of Charleston, SC, several nieces and nephews.
