Reverend Earl Vernon Parrish, Sr., 84, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Monday the 30th of August 2021 at SE Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, Georgia. Rev. Parrish studied Pastoral Ministries at Trevecca Nazarene College “TNC” in Nashville, Tn and Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. He was a former member of the Ga National Guard and had a passion for serving Christ, writing poetry and songs. Earl lettered at Glynn Academy High School and at TNC in football.
A lifelong native of Brunswick, Georgia born 22nd of October 1936 to the late T M Parrish, Sr. and the late Verdie Estelle Wildes Parrish. In addition to Earl’s parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Sarah Nelle and Nokie and brothers TJ, Junior, Gerald, and Frank.
Earl is survived by his Loving wife of 64 years, Thelma Jean Joyner Parrish of Brunswick Ga, his brother Lewis Parrish, sisters Idelle, Joanne and Janice, sons Rip, Brent and his other son Dodd and spouse Sheila, 8 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation is to be held 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, 8th of September 2021 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Combs of Lakeside Methodist Church and Rev. Dodd Parrish Ret. Nazarene Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dodd Parrish, Sr., Brent Parrish, DJ Parrish, Jr., Chad Parrish, Micah Parrish, Dwight Parrish III, Mark Newman and Tony Collins.
Honorary pallbearers are Lewis Parrish, Rip Parrish, Calvary Baptist Church board of Deacons, Advent Christian Church members and Lakeside Methodist adult Sunday School class.”
